Conservative activist Christopher Rufo discovered these outdated tweets, one thing that was mentioned within the New York Instances.

Maher’s previous social media posts are newsworthy. Veteran NPR reporter Uri Berliner wrote an article for The Free Press that accused his longtime outlet of getting a “liberal bent” and a scarcity of range in viewpoints.

Berliner, who labored at NPR for 25 years, was suspended for 5 days not lengthy after.

He explored how NPR had run tales about Hunter Biden’s controversial laptop computer in 2020 being reported as “Russian disinformation” and the Covid-19 Wuhan lab origin idea being handled as a conspiracy idea as examples the place nobody is held accountable.

Berliner Speaks About Bias

“It’s one factor to swing and miss on a serious story,” Berliner writes. “Sadly, it occurs. You observe the unsuitable leads, you get misled by sources you trusted, you’re emotionally invested in a story, and bits of circumstantial proof by no means add up. It’s dangerous to blow a giant story.”

“What’s worse is to fake it by no means occurred, to maneuver on with no mea culpas, no self-reflection,” he continued. “Particularly while you anticipate excessive requirements of transparency from public figures and establishments, however don’t observe these requirements your self. That’s what shatters belief and engenders cynicism concerning the media.”

Berliner mentioned that NPR was hostage to all the everyday leftwing tropes.

“Race and identification turned paramount in almost each side of the office,” he wrote. “Journalists have been required to ask everybody we interviewed their race, gender, and ethnicity (amongst different questions), and needed to enter it in a centralized monitoring system. We got unconscious bias coaching classes. A rising DEI workers supplied common conferences imploring us to ‘begin speaking about race.’ Month-to-month dialogues have been supplied for ‘ladies of coloration’ and ‘males of coloration.’ Nonbinary individuals of coloration have been included, too.”

Defund NPR Now

Maher responded to Berliner’s criticisms in a press release, saying, “In America everyone seems to be entitled to free speech as a non-public citizen. What issues is NPR’s work and my dedication as its CEO: public service, editorial independence, and the mission to serve the entire American public. NPR is impartial, beholden to no celebration, and with out business pursuits.”

Yeah proper.

It’s true, everyone seems to be entitled to free speech.

However NPR just isn’t entitled to American tax {dollars} to fund solely the slim views they maintain.

NPR ought to have been defunded a very long time in the past. However there’s nonetheless no time like the current.
