The Division of Justice has notified Speaker Mike Johnson that it gained\u2019t prosecute Lawyer Basic Merrick Garland for contempt of Congress as a result of Garland didn\u2019t commit against the law.<\/p>\n

Assistant Attorney General Carlos Uriarte, wrote to Johnson,<\/a> \u201cPer this longstanding place and uniform observe, the Division has decided that the responses by Lawyer Basic Garland to the subpoenas issued by the Committees didn’t represent against the law, and accordingly the Division is not going to deliver the congressional contempt quotation earlier than a grand jury or take every other motion to prosecute the Lawyer Basic.\u201d<\/p>\n
