Luis Rubiales, the Spanish soccer chief, has resigned from his submit days after prosecutors filed a felony grievance towards him over alleged sexual assault for kissing a feminine participant on the World Cup.<\/p>\n

In an announcement late on Sunday, Rubiales mentioned he had submitted his resignation as president of the Royal Spanish Soccer Federation, a task from which he had already been suspended for 90 days by Fifa, the sport\u2019s governing physique, as condemnation of his conduct mounted.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the swift suspension by Fifa, plus the remainder of the proceedings towards me, it’s clear that I won’t be able to return to my place,\u201d Rubiales mentioned. Claiming he was dealing with \u201cunconscionable persecution\u201d, he added: \u201cI’ll defend my honour. I’ll defend my innocence.\u201d<\/p>\n
