WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The US imposed new Russia-related sanctions on Thursday concentrating on 18 people and dozens of organizations and geared toward blocking Moscow’s entry to merchandise that assist its battle in opposition to Ukraine, the U.S. Treasury Division stated.
The brand new measures are also designed to “scale back Russia’s income from the metals and mining sector, undermine its future power capabilities and degrade Russia’s entry to the worldwide monetary system,” the division stated in an announcement.
“As we speak’s actions signify one other step in our efforts to constrain Russia’s army capabilities, its entry to battlefield provides, and its financial backside line,” Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo stated within the assertion.
