MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russian President Vladimir Putin and high authorities and safety officers on Monday mentioned strengthening measures to counter exterior interference, together with information-related interference, the Kremlin’s spokesman stated on Tuesday.
In a press release to a gathering of members of his Safety Council and the federal government and the heads of regulation enforcement businesses, Putin had on Monday accused the West and Ukraine of stirring up unrest inside Russia after rioters within the predominantly Muslim Dagestan area stormed an airport to “catch” Jewish passengers on a flight from Tel Aviv.
Kyiv denied any involvement.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Tuesday that the occasions in Dagestan had been being analysed to make sure dangers of a repeat had been minimised.
