Canada’s ruling Liberal-NDP coalition has introduced a bill in Parliament that might ban companies in federally regulated industries, akin to banking and telecommunications, from bringing in alternative employees throughout a strike. The invoice would require the agency and the union to barter which companies can proceed forward of a strike. If they cannot attain an settlement, the Canadian Industrial Relations Board would make that call. The invoice doesn’t apply to federal public service employees.
